Day 1: Guests can check into the hotel in the centre of Florence from 14.00. Meeting at hotel at 15,00 to start our wine Tour and tastings in Chianti Classico. On the first opening evening we will be a tour and tasting and dinner inside a historical villa in Chianti Classico. Villa Le Corti was build in 1363 and will be the perfect location is the private cellars for our first dinner Together. A delicious Tuscan meal paired with all there wines. Before our meal Tom will host a detailed Tour of the property and host a wine tasting in the owners private candle lit cellar. After dinner we head back to Florence hotel in the centre.
Day 2: After breakfast we will head for the medieval hill top town of Montalcino to discover one of Italy's finest wines "Brunello di Montalcino". The tour starts with a visit to a family run cellar which is not open to the public. This vineyard produces approximately 9,000 bottles a year. You will meet the family and discover the secrets of a very special place and enjoy the wines looking over the hills of Montalcino. After this first visit we will have lunch at "Castello Tricerchi". This castle was completed in 1441 and they continue to produce the fine wine of "Brunello di Montalcino". The family will give us a tour of the Castle followed by lunch in a private room paired with the wines. Here you will have the opportunity to meet Tomasso, the owner of the castle. After lunch we head to our third producer of Brunello to visit the young enthusiastic wine maker Federico, where we will taste four wines including Riserva. Here we will have a fun blind tasting comparing vintages and wines with Tom and Federico. We will then head back to Florence where you have a free evening to enjoy the shops, bars and restaurants for an evening on your own or Join Tom in his all time favourite trattoria in Florence for a nice meal all together with wine.
Day 3: After breakfast we will drive out to the hills of Chianti Classico to visit a beautiful private villa estate who produce absolutely delicious wines but also have a private truffle hunting reserve om the property which is extensive woodland area surrounding the property. Here will meet our professional truffle hunters and of course their faithful dogs. There will be a morning of wandering through the woods with an experienced hunter and his dogs scanning the ground for truffles. You will learn about the several types of truffle to be found, how they are used and how the dogs are trained. As this is a genuine truffle hunt there is no guarantee that truffles will be found, however, if you are lucky enough to collect some you will soon discover why they are so revered in Italy. After our hunt we will retire to the kitchen of this wonderful villa where we will have a cooking lesson using the highly prized truffles. We will then enjoy a late lunch. We will also taste the delicious Chianti Classico and Super Tuscan wines produced by the farm.
After lunch we will have time to squeeze in one more memorable wine tasting at another beautiful local farm and have the opportunity to do some barrel tasting. We will taste from both the stainless steel and also the french oak barriques followed by a tasting wine tasting with the owners.
We will drop guests off in Florence at approximately 17.00.
